For the original Vivo Y17 (2019 / Model 1902), the power key is a strictly mechanical component. Similar to the Y11, Y12, and Y15 models of that era, it features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, meaning the side power button does not contain any biometric hardware.

Important Notes for Repair
Fingerprint Sensor is Separate: If you are having trouble with fingerprint recognition, you need the Vivo Y17 Rear Fingerprint Sensor Flex, as it is a completely independent part from the power/volume buttons.
Y17 vs. Y17s: Be careful not to confuse this with the Vivo Y17s (2023). The Y17s uses a modern side-mounted fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button. Parts for these two phones are not interchangeable.
Flex Fragility: The internal ribbon is paper-thin. When installing, avoid any sharp kinks or “pinching” of the cable, as even a hairline crack in the copper pathways will cause the buttons to fail.
